Robert Lee Sturm

Robert Lee Sturm, 58, of Othello, WA, passed away April 13, 2012 at Kadlac Medical Center.

He was born January 22, 1954 in Watertown, South Dakota the youngest son of Laverne Sturm and Lillian (Braaten) Sturm and Lillian (Braaten) Sturm.

He spent his early youth in South Dakota and then the family moved to Union Gap, WA.  As a young man he drove beet truck in Othello, married Lynn Robel and moved to the Seattle area.  Robert moved back to Othello in 2000 with his second wife, Nikki Perkins, to stay, after several times of moving back and forth from various places around the northwest.  Robert was preceded in death by his father and mother and by his two brothers Richard Sturm and Wayne Schwenn.  He is survived by his wife Nikki, sister Janice Hellums of Oxford, AR, on son Richard Sturm, two step-sons Robert Barney and Scott Robel, five step-daughters Gerry Moore, Teresa Kelly, Chrys Curry, Tammy Robel and Laurie Choate, one aunt Gertrude Holland and his 12 beloved grandchildren.

As a caring, loving friend, father and grandfather, he will be sorely missed.  We love you grandpa and will meet up later.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 1:00 pm at the Pilgrem Lutheran Church on 7th St. in Othello.  Family and friends are invited to an informal bar-b-que at his home, 1226 E. Hemlock St. in Othello after the service.
