MOSES LAKE - Four Moses Lake bankers were named Bankers of the Year for Sterling Bank.

The four bankers recognized were personal bankers Kerrie Smith and Kathy Mitchell; assistant branch manager Leigh Ramsey; and branch manager Shannon Rock, all employed at Sterling Bank's Moses Lake branch.

Sterling Bank recognizes employees monthly, quarterly and annually, said Cara Coon, communications and public affairs director for Sterling Bank. Receiving recognition as a banker of the year means the bankers met or exceeded their goals for the entire year, she said.

"We are very pleased to be a part of the Moses Lake community and our great team works hard to provide complete financial services to our customers," said Mark Griffith, senior vice president and retail regional director for Sterling Bank.

Each banker receives a trophy and is recognized at the bank's annual leadership meeting, said Coon.

Smith was born and raised in Moses Lake and graduated from Moses Lake High School. She has worked for Sterling Bank for 10 years. The most important element of her job is customer service, she said.

Mitchell has been a resident of Moses Lake since 1965 and graduated from Moses Lake High School and Big Bend Community College. She has 24 years of banking experience, six of them with Sterling Bank. She enjoys listening to people's individual needs and helping to meet them, she said.

Ramsey was born and raised in Moses Lake. She graduated from Moses Lake High School and Big Bend Community College and is working toward a BA in accounting. She and her husband, Mitch, have a boy named Ethan.

Rock was raised in East Wenatchee, where she graduated from Eastmont High School. She graduated from Wenatchee Valley College and Central Washington University. She and her husband, Scott, moved to Moses Lake six years ago from Coulee City. She has worked in banking for 38 years, 14 of them with Sterling Bank. Every client deserves respect and to be treated fairly and honestly, she said.
