Jackie Jones

Jackie Jones, 71, a resident of Soap Lake and Ephrata for over 40 years, passed away May 16, 2012 at Samaritan Hospital due to complications after surgery and a long battle with Crohn's disease.

She was born Oct. 13, 1940 in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, and moved with her family to the U.S. in 1956, settling in Moses Lake. She married Terry Jones on July 25, 1966, and together they raised a blended family of 11 children. Jackie and Terry also operated Soap Lake Upholstery for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Terry. She is survived by a sister, Nevita Lewis of Little Rock, Ark.; brothers Ron Kenly of Soap Lake, and Duane Kenly and Lonnie Kenly of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; daughters Laura Dirks of Ephrata and Roni Jones Fairweather of Ephrata; sons Darren Dirks of Wenatchee, Rick Jones of Ephrata, Tom Jones of Moses Lake and Ken Jones of Ephrata; and over 40 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jackie's family invites all who knew her to celebrate her life at a memorial service on Monday, May 21 at 12:00 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Church, 1515 South Division Street, Moses Lake. A graveside service will immediately follow at the Valley View Memorial Park, 201274 Road A-NE, Soap Lake.
