Deadline nears for DCP sign-up

EPHRATA – Greg Anderson, County Executive Director for the Grant County Farm Service Agency, remind    s irrigated producers there is a signup deadline of June 1 to enroll in the 2012 Direct and Counter-Cyclical Program, also known as DCP.

The DCP program provides benefits to eligible producers who have established grain bases on their farming interests. DCP contracts must be filed annually.

Anderson noted that producers will be asked to report their 2012 crop acreages during their office visit. Producers are encouraged to have planting dates available.

Producers wanting to enroll into DCP are encouraged to contact the county office at (509) 754-2463, ext. 2 to schedule an appointment prior to visiting.
