Wrestling tournament a big success
MOSES LAKE -The Moses Lake Wrestling Club (MLWC) hosted 23 clubs with 491 wrestlers from across the state March 17 in a spectacular St. Patrick's Day showdown.
Moses Lake had 44 participants taking part in the event and made a good showing in finals.
MLWC was awarded 22 gold, 11 silver, and four bronze medals.
The tournament featured both boys and girls ages 5-14 in a Freestyle Wrestling style competition.
Head coaches Ron Seibel and Jaime Garza were proud of their teams accomplishments and hope to continue on this winning streak.
The club also offered an XBOX 360 with Kinect in a raffle style drawing courtesy of The White Family to help raise funds for future activities and uniforms.
These kids have worked hard since September and will continue to do so through the State Little Guys Tournament takes place April 7 at the Spokane Convention Center in Spokane.
MLWC has already competed in the Little Guys pre-final tournaments in Royal City March 3, Warden, March 10, Moses Lake and March 17.
MLWC and will take to the road on March 24 in Wenatchee and Colville on March 31.
