Richard Corral
Richard Corral, age 53, a lifetime resident of Moses Lake, WA., passed away Sunday, March 18, 2012, after a long battle with Huntington's Disease. Richard had been living at the Washington State Soldier's Home in Orting, WA for the past 4 years.
Richard was born in Moses Lake, WA on August 6, 1958 to Robert A. Corral and Maria Del Socorro Corral. Richard spent most of his childhood years playing and working on the family farm, located in Moses Lake. He loved working on cars and rebuilding engines. At any given time you could find Richard reading car magazines and getting all the new and latest ideas. Richard also enjoyed the outdoors and took an interest in photography. He grew up with three brothers, Daniel, Robert, and Edward Corral.
Richard was employed on the family farm for approximately 4 years after graduating from high school. In 1980, Richard married Mary Butterworth, and shortly after, they had their first child, Andrew. During January of 1983, Richard joined the United States Army (as a Hawk Missile Radar Operator) and attended basic training at Ft. Bliss, Texas. He was then stationed at Kitzigen, W. Germany (Larsen Barracks), and then back to Ft. Bliss, TX. At the completion of his military service, Richard decided to move back to Washington State. Once back home, he was employed with Steve Jorgensen Farms for several years. He later obtained his journeyman's license as an electrician and became employed with Lad Irrigation, working on pivot circles, until his retirement.
Richard was preceded in death by his Father Robert A. Corral, Mother (Francis) Corral, and brother Edward Corral. Richard is survived by 4 children and 3 grandchildren. Andrew W. (Andy) and Erica Corral, Pasco, WA.; Tawnie M. Corral, Warden, WA.; Casey R. and Nicole Corral, W. Richland, WA.; and Alisha M Corral, Warden, WA. Richard has 3 grandchildren; Nicholas and Avah Corral, Pasco, WA.; and Nalani M. Garza, Warden.
There will a memorial service for the immediate family only. The date will be set at a later time.
