| March 17, 2012 6:00 AM

Viola C. Reyna, 79, resident of Moses Lake

Viola passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her daughters and adoring family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Viola was born Feb. 10, 1933 in Mercedes, Texas and raised in various places throughout the western United States.

She was one of eight children born to the late Margarito and Carolina Quintanilla and was the beloved wife of Roberto B. Reyna for over 55 years. Viola will forever be remembered by her devoted brothers, Juan (deceased), Tomas, Noe, Abel, and Adam and her loving sisters Eva and Eloise, her beloved daughters Rosemary Parsons, Rebecca Coffman, Rita Reyna, Rachel Adamson, her treasured grandchildren Jordan, Adrian, Amber, Dylan, Riena, and Avery. Viola's pride and joy were her 7 great-grandchildren she was truly in her element when she was around children. Viola was a working mother teaching her 'girls' by example how important hard work is to a successful life. All who knew her loved and respected her and we who knew her well were blessed to share her wisdom and compassion for all people without ever feeling any judgment from her. She was without a doubt a Godly woman. Viola touched the lives of many people with her kindness and generosity, and in the end she maintained a hopeful outlook even when the pain was unbearable she hardly ever complained as was her custom throughout her life. We will always be better people for knowing her.
