Wilferd Garrett Pratt
Wilferd Garrett Pratt passed away at Sacred Heart in Spokane on March 9, 2012 at the age of 89. Wilferd was born in Lemon, South Dakota on Sept. 17, 1922.
At the age of 12, he gave his heart to the Lord. In 1944, he was drafted into the Army and served in Europe during WWII. After being honorably discharged, he began serving in the "Ministry" and was there until 1960. In 1961, he married Cecil Dirks, a widow with 5 children. They moved to Prosser, Washington and later moved to Goldendale to open up their home and be of help to others in their Faith. In 1994 they relocated to Moses Lake to be closer to family.
Wilferd loved his bible, and his faith and spiritual fellowship were very precious to him. He loved his family and friends and was always interested in what others had to share. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
Wilferd was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Winiferd Pratt, sister, Nila Amundson and brothers, Frank and Dale. He was also preceded in death by his grandson, Brian Dirks and great grandson, Kelly Youngers.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Cecil, step-son, Bob Dirks (Bonnie), Step-daughters, Nancy Stokes (Steve), Bonnie Lynn Dirks, Shirley Aarestad (Mike), Lorna Jarrell (Jeff), 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Services will be Thursday, Mar. 15th, at 2:00 p.m. at Kayser's Chapel, viewing from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Kayser's.
