WARDEN
Reader asks city about graffiti, speeders
I attended the Warden city council meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 28. After the board members were finished discussing unimportant issues, I finally had the chance to talk about real and very important issues of Warden.
My first issue was on gang graffiti and talking about the blind spots where there is graffiti on houses, sheds and in alleys. As I showed photos of proof, a Herald staff took a few photos of what I was displaying of the graffiti.
And my second issue was speeding, mainly on south of Jackson Street, where I have seen, on a random day, speeders going between 45 to 60 mph in a 25 speed limit zone. I requested that the Warden police need to leave the hard workers of the two plants in Warden alone, and do more patrolling where it is very needed.
The graffiti has not been removed for more than two years. The mayor, Mr. Massa, has done nothing since I had asked him in person before he was elected as mayor, during the debate with Kight, the runner up for mayor. I strongly feel that the mayor and police chief got the reality check they needed on issues that seriously need to be dealt with. I am happy to be the only brave one to finally get the word out.
