MOSES LAKE - Search teams utilized a remote control robot to search for missing Moses Lake man Dan Toya at the Potholes Reservoir.

The Franklin County Sheriff's Office brought their search robot, called a SARBOT, to search under the surface of the reservoir Thursday, according to the Grant County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff Tom Jones stated the SARBOT worked well although no sign of Toya was found.

Deputies plan to use the SARBOT again at an undetermined future date.

"We continue to hope to find Dan and I continue to pray for Dan's family and friends," Jones stated.

Search parties on the ground, air and water have found few clues since Toya, 64, went missing Dec. 23, the same day his locked and undisturbed pickup truck was found near Samson's Beach, south of Moses Lake.

Detectives suspect Toya took his dog, Molly, for a walk at Samson's Beach after visiting a Moses Lake veterinarian.

There is no sign of foul play.
