OTHELLO - A new warehouse is helping the J.R. Simplot Company grow in the areas of storage and customer service.

The 48,000 square-foot warehouse serves all Simplot Grower Solutions (SGS) units in Washington state and provides faster service to SGS customers, according to SGS head Dave Dufault.

"Acquiring this warehouse aligns with SGS' long-term strategy to develop an efficient distribution system that will serve our customers well for years to come," Dufault states.

The new facility allows current customers to be better served with dry fertilizer products, says Greg Olson, a Moses Lake-based SGS area manager.

The warehouse helps the company handle new customers as the business is grown in Washington.

No new jobs are added with this move, according to David Cuoio, of Simplot.

The warehouse can hold 30,000 tons of dry fertilizer and was last owned by Northwestern AG Warehousing LLC.
