Richard L. "Dick" Jones

Richard L. "Dick" Jones age 81 of Moses Lake, WA passed away Monday evening June 18, 2012 at Columbia Crest Care Center of cancer.

Born May 19, 1931 in Eureka, Calif., to Harry G. and Rilla Startin Jones.  The family moved to Dayton, Washington and when he was 12 years old they moved to Moses Lake where Harry started the OK Tire Store.  Dick joined his father in the business when he was 19.  In 1950 he married Betty Louise McKim. Allen Richard was born followed by Ann Louise.

Dick owned and operated the OK Tire Store after the death of his father in 1964.  He was joined later in the business by his older brother, Wayne, when he returned to Moses Lake after 20 years in the US Navy.  Dick retired and they sold the store about 15 years ago.

Always physically and socially active, Dick played racquetball, golf, danced, and bowled.  He loved being on Lake Roosevelt in his houseboat teaching waterskiing to all the children. Many summers were enjoyed camping with friends and family.

Dick was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty, and son, Allen.

In 2007, Dick married Linnette Pearce.

He is survived by his wife, Linnette, daughter, Ann and her husband Jerry J. Miller, of Vancouver, WA and granddaughter, Marti Jones of Denver, CO; brother, Wayne H. Jones, wife, Rosemary. Stepdaughters, Melba and her husband Ray Fujiura, and their son, Pearce; Debbie and Barry Rochefort and their son, Gabe.  Grandsons, Darin Miller, wife, Barbara, son, Dillon; David Miller, wife, Marbeth and daughters, Kristen, Kaitlin and Kandy; nieces and nephews.

Celebration of Dick's life will be at the Elks Lodge, 814 N. Stratford Rd, Moses Lake, WA  98837 on Saturday, June 30th at 2p.m. Bring stories and pictures to celebrate. Sign the online guestbook or leave a note for the family at www.kayserschapel.com.
