Two injured in roll over

| June 24, 2012 6:00 AM

EPHRATA  – Two Ephrata men were injured in a rollover crash the night of June 12 near here.

According to investigators, Michael Jason Clark, 18, of Ephrata, was driving a 1997 Ford Excursion southbound in the 11000 block of Dodson Road Northwest when he lost control of the vehicle.

The care drifted off the west side of the road. Clark overcorrected, causing the vehicle to roll over off the roadway, coming to rest on its roof.

Clark and his passenger, 18-year-old Tyler Purcell of Ephrata, were not wearing seatbelts, authorities said. But both were trapped inside the vehicle after it rolled.

Clark was seriously injured and flown by Northwest MedStar to Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee. Purcell received bumps, cuts and bruises, and was taken by ambulance to Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake.

Early indications are texting while driving may have caused this accident, police said.
