Washburn leads way for Manta Rays

SPOKANE - Zachary Washburn won every event in the boys 8 and under category and was high point winner at the Spokane Summer Solstice Swim Meet June 15-17.

Washburn also set two Inland Empire Association records in the 50 butterfly and the 100 freestyle. Zachary Johnston placed first in the 15 and over 400 individual medley, and was second in the 200 back and 1500 freestyle.

Eric Kemper placed third in three events in the boys 10 and under, and Anna Fair placed third in the 11 under girls 50 butterfly.

Courtney Schweisow placed third in the girls 15 and over 400 individual medley. Zachary Washburn is the second swimmer from the Manta Rays to win high point for their age group. Brenden Eslick was high point in Wenatchee in the last meet.

The next meet for the Manta Rays is June 22-24 in Yakima. This will be a good test as several teams from the Seattle area will be attending.
