MOSES LAKE - A power outage in Moses Lake affected more than 650 Grant County PUD accounts for several minutes Wednesday afternoon.

Rita Bjork with Grant PUD said power crews were working behind the Grant County Mall complex on Pioneer Way shortly after 12 p.m., when they experienced an equipment failure that caused the power to blink, but quickly come back on.

But about 10 minutes later, another equipment problem caused the power to go down for about 20 minutes. Grant PUD customers were reportedly affected between Pioneer Way and Highway 17, and between Wheeler and Nelson roads. This included Samaritan Hospital, which switched to an auxiliary generator without incident, according to a hospital spokesperson.

Full power was restored to the area about 12:50 p.m., Bjork said.
