Gratitude for Relay support

| June 22, 2012 6:00 AM

I would like to thank everyone who came out on June 8 and 9 and supported the Moses Lake Relay For Life. Currently, approximately $135,000 has been raised for the American Cancer Society and we couldn't do it without the generosity and support of such a great community like Moses Lake.

Special thanks to Harlan Beagley and the Columbia Basin Herald for the coverage before and after the event, also to Mark Gilbert, Copious Notes, Vinny, MLPD Honor Guard, Mike Hamilton, Michael's on the Lake crew, Mark Basset, Tom Willner and Casey Withers.

Also to everyone who donated their time and energy to set everything up and our over 1,100 participants and 200 survivors! You rock!

Fundraising is still continuing this Saturday with a parking lot sale at Penhallurick's and the Boob Tour Comedy Show at the Moses Lake Civic Center at 7 p.m. Tickets for the show can be purchased at Michael's Bistro and cost $25.

If you would like to volunteer for the 2013 Relay For Life, the 25th anniversary of Relay in Moses Lake, contact Cheri Stoker, ACS Staff, at 509-783-1574.

Thank you again everyone who contributed or volunteered to make our event what it has become in the past 24 years, no matter how big or small, it is appreciated!

It is an honor to be a member of such a great community that doesn't hesitate to "Celebrate, Remember and Fight Back" against cancer!
