Felon found after search in Coulee City

COULEE CITY - Grant County Sheriff's deputies and Coulee City police reportedly found a wanted felon hiding in a field near the town late Tuesday.

Authorities had been looking for Cody Seeley, 24, who allegedly fled the scene of a shots fired call that morning. It is unknown if Seeley fired a gun during the incident.

Law enforcement were initially called at 5:30 a.m. to a field near West Douglas Street in Coulee City. While en route to the location, police were told a wanted felon was possibly at the scene, according to a Sheriff's report.

Deputies believe several people were at the site using drugs and shooting guns, although nobody was reportedly targeted or injured.

Officers stopped a vehicle leaving the area and reportedly detained the car's occupants.

Ryan Kantola, 25, of Ephrata, was booked into the Grant County Jail on suspicion of unlawful possession of a firearm related to the shots fired incident.

A 15-year-old male was booked into the Grant County Youth Services facility on suspicion of felon in possession of a firearm, while a 21-year-old female and a 15-year-old female were reportedly questioned and released.

The U.S. Marshals Task Force was searching for Seeley regarding a warrant for residential burglary.
