Felix Avila, Jr.

Felix Avila, Jr., 63, of Moses Lake passed away Thursday, June 14, 2012 at home surrounded by loving family.

Felix was born October 1, 1948 in Seguin, Texas to Felix Avila Sr. and Guadalupe Zuniga. Felix and his family moved to Othello, Washington in 1960 where he graduated from Othello High School in 1968.

Felix married Enedina Lopez right out of high school on June 21, 1968. They moved to Moses Lake where Felix attended Big Bend Community College receiving his certification in welding. He worked for several businesses before opening his own body shop. In 2004 Felix retired from EKA Chemicals.

Felix enjoyed his morning walks, listening to music, and metal work. He cherished spending time with his family; especially his grandchildren and loved family barbeques. Felix loved his time with his children and was proud to coach his sons' baseball and soccer teams. He had a passion for restoring old cars and most recently was working on his 56' Chevy before becoming ill.

Felix is survived by his wife of 44 years Enedina Avila, Daughters Glenda (Chad) Record, Selma Avila (Steve Taber), Sons Paul Ryan Avila, and Jason Felix Avila all of Moses Lake, Three wonderful grandchildren, Nickkolas J. Harless, Sara M. Record, and Micaela A. Record, and can't forget a wonderful companion "Bosto", Siblings Genoveva Meraz - Connell, Wa., Santos Salazar - Hoodriver, Oregon, Alice Scholerman - Hillsbro, Oregon, John Avila - Rufus, Oregon, Jose Avila - Hillsbro, Oregon, Step-Mother Patricia Avila , Mother-in-Law Sara Lopez, and Sister-in-Law Olga Zamora all of Moses Lake, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Felix is preceded in death by his mother Guadalupe Avila, father Felix Avila Sr., Grandson Ian P. Harless, and Brother-in-Law Mario Zamora.
