NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS

STRATFORD ROAD CROSSWALK PROJECTC2012

Sealed bids will be received at City Hall, 321 South Balsam, (P. O. Box 1579), Moses Lake, Washington 98837 until July 10, 2012; 2:00:59 P.M., for the above-named improvement. Said bids will be opened and publicly read at that time. All bids shall be received before said opening time in sealed envelopes with STRATFORD ROAD CROSSWALK PROJECTC2012 marked plainly thereon.

All bids shall be accompanied by a deposit in the form of a postal money order, cashier’s check, or bond in an amount equal to 5 percent of the maximum total amount of the bid. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into a contract or furnish a satisfactory contract bond within the time stated in the specifications, the deposit shall be forfeited to the City.

Plans and specifications shall be obtained at the City Hall at the above address for a non-refundable fee of $35.00. Only bids from bidders who have purchased plans and specifications at the City Hall will be accepted. Copies of plans and specifications are on file for review at various construction councils.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The project includes construction of a mid-block crosswalk on Stratford Road, bulb-outs for the pedestrian crossing at Knolls Vista Drive, and sidewalk replacement/widening at 603 N. Stratford Road, including warning beacons, stormwater modifications, HMA patching, curb and gutters, sidewalks, striping, signage.

The City Council reserves the right to reject any or all bids if such action is in the best interest of the City.
