Notice of Application and Proposed Determination of Non-Significance

Notice is hereby given that a Building Permit application and SEPA Checklist received by Grant County on May 24, 2012 from Marlin Hutterian Brethren (Designated Contact:  Rob Terry, Storage Systems Northwest, Inc., 900 Chemical Drive, Kennewick, WA 99336, 509-543-3353), were found to be technically complete on June 7, 2012.

Notice is hereby given that a Building Permit application and SEPA Checklist received by Grant County on May 24, 2012 from Marlin Hutterian Brethren (Designated Contact:  Rob Terry, Storage Systems Northwest, Inc., 900 Chemical Drive, Kennewick, WA 99336, 509-543-3353), were found to be technically complete on June 7, 2012.  Grant County expects to issue a Determination of Non-Significance for this proposal, and the Optional DNS Process in WAC 197-11-355 is being used.  This proposal may include mitigation measures under applicable codes, and the project review process may incorporate or require mitigation measures regardless of whether an EIS is prepared.  This may be the only opportunity to comment on the

environmental impacts of the proposal and the proposed mitigation measures.  A copy of the

subsequent threshold determination may be obtained upon request.  PROJECT:  The construction of one (1) approximately 60,000 sq. ft. potato storage facility on a 320-acre parcel in the Agriculture zoning district of Grant County.  ADDITIONAL PERMITS:  Building Permit.  STUDIES REQUIRED:  None.  LOCATION:  The subject site is an approximately 3-acre portion of Parcel #18-1585-000, and is located approximately 6 miles southeast of Wilson Creek, WA, and approximately 1.2 miles southwest of the intersection of State Highway 28 and Road W NE, and in the SE quarter of Section 27, Township 22 North, Range 30 East, WM, Grant County, WA.  ZONING:  Agriculture.  CONSISTENCY STATEMENT:  This proposal is subject to and shall be consistent with Grant County Code, International Building Code, and International Fire Code.  Copies of application materials (File #12-5693) are available from Rick Rettig, Grant County Planning Department, 457 1st Avenue NW, PO Box 37, Ephrata, WA 98823, (509)754-2011, ext. 622.  Office hours:  8 am-12 noon, 1-5 pm, M-F.  Comments must be submitted to the Planning Department no later than 5 pm on July 3, 2012.  Comments should be as specific as possible and may be mailed, hand-delivered, or sent by facsimile.  All persons, agencies, or tribes have the right to comment, receive notice, participate in any hearings, request a copy of the final decision, and/or appeal the decision as provided by law and County Code.
