International Paper has applied for renewal of its State Waste Discharge Permit in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 90.48 Revised Code of Washington (RCW) and Chapter 173-216 Washington Administrative Code (WAC).
International Paper presently owns and operates a corrugated container manufacturing facility that discharges wastewater to the Moses Lake Dunes Wastewater Treatment Facility and is allowed to discharge with a maximum daily flow limit of 38,005 gallons per day. The wastewater, following treatment, must meet the requirements of the Washington State Water Pollution Control Act and applicable regulations for a permit to be issued.
Following evaluation of the application and other available information, a draft permit has been developed which would allow the discharge of wastewater from the facility with the appropriate permit limits and conditions.
A tentative determination has been made on the effluent limitations and special permit conditions that will prevent and control pollution. A final determination will not be made until all timely comments received in response to this notice have been evaluated.
