CRESCENT BAR – Signature Flowers & Events, which opened on Crescent Bar Island last year, has a couple of significant changes this year.

The most noticeable change is the name. The shop is now The Island boutique, and the décor is somewhat tropical.

The other change is the addition of sales assistant Kay Patterson. The Crescent View Condos resident will man the store when owner Camille Grebb is unable.

That could be most times. Grebb is quite occupied with her original Signature Flowers & Events in Quincy. And she is a wedding planner.

Patterson met Grebb when Grebb conducted Patterson's niece's wedding in 2010. They hit it off and have maintained a friendship since.

“When I found out she had this shop,  I asked her to let me help, and she did,” Patterson said.

According to Patterson the name of the shop was changed to better reflect the Crescent Bar culture and the products the store offers.

“We have a lot more than flowers,” she said.

In addition to flowers, The Island Boutique offers fine and costume jewelry, ladies hand bags, sweets and more.
