Walleyes beat Wenatchee, lose to Yakima
MOSES LAKE - The Walleyes pounded out 20 hits in twin bill action against Yakima at Larson Field Wednesday.
But Moses Lake was unable to manufacture enough runs to pull out either game and was dealt a dual loss to the visiting team.

The first game of the doubleheader saw the Walleyes jump out to a 3-0 lead after one inning of play.
Singles by Brett Moser, Nick Bailey and Jacob Price produced the first run of the game for Moses Lake. A two-run double by Spencer Street brought Bailey and Price home to put the Walleyes up by three runs.
The score held up until Yakima answered back with a two-run rally in the fourth to close the gap to 3-2.
Moses Lake got one back in the bottom of the inning to stretch its lead to 4-2.
Yakima took its first lead of the game with two runs in the top of the fifth and never looked back as the team scored four runs in the sixth and three in the seven, while holding the Walleyes off the board to win going away.
Four errors by Moses Lake didn't help the Walleyes cause. Tanner Gonzalez went five innings on the bump for Moses Lake and was tagged with the loss.

Jordan LaCelle went 3-for-4 and scored two runs in the night cap of the twin bill, but it wasn't enough to propel the Walleyes to victory.
Yakima put two runs on the scoreboard in the first inning, one in the third and two in the fourth to race out front 5-0.
Moses Lake finally brought two runs across the plate in the bottom of the fourth inning to close the gap to make a game of it, 5-2.
A run in the top of the fifth and four in the top of the sixth pushed the score to 10-2 in favor of Yakima, and seemingly put the game out of reach for the Walleyes. But a four-run rally by Moses Lake in the bottom of the seven got the team within one, 10-9.
Spencer Street was hit with the loss for the Walleyes.
"Our intensity last night was great," coach Quintz Whitaker said. "The boys are learning how to work together as a team. They just need to realize what's going on and have baseball instincts. We have to have all aspects of the game working to beat a team like Yakima. Hopefully we get a chance to square off with them somewhere down the line."
The Walleyes took both game of the doubleheader in Wenatchee Tuesday. Moses Lake pulled out a 5-3 come from behind win in game one thanks to a three run fifth inning. Drew Loera had the hot bat for Moses Lake with two hits and two RBI.
Anthony Rios threw five and two-thirds innings to pick up the win. Closer Tyson Karsetter was credited with the save.
The second game of the twin bill was a real donnybrook as lead changed hands four times while 29 runs off 25 hits were hung on the scoreboard.
The Walleyes went up 6-0 in the top of the first inning.
Wenatchee answered back with 10 in the bottom of the second and one in the third to take a five run lead, 11-6.
Moses Lake got four back in the top of the fifth and three in the sixth to go back out front 13-12. Wenatchee tied the game 13-13 with a run in the bottom of the sixth.
A three-run seventh allowed the Walleyes to retake the lead 16-13. Wenatchee failed to answer the bell in the bottom of the inning and lost the game by three runs.
Moses Lake is back on the diamond tonight when the team travels to West Valley for two non-league games.
The Walleyes are on the road for the next four days then have a two week break in their schedule.
