INCOME DISPARITY

| June 15, 2012 6:00 AM

Prosperity doesn't trickle down

Saw a graph the other day of income disparity since the early 1980's.

Reasonably parallel at first, the lines separate sharply near the end of Ronald Reagan's second term as the rich begin to gulp from the flagon of greed.

The desert, our line, sees their line continue upward to form a mountain so high no wonder prosperity doesn't trickle down.  It evaporates before it gets to us.

Trickles of greed, however--it must be heavier on the periodic tables of the elements of capitalism--reach us, and determine how we live.  Is it to emulate or is it to survive?
