Celestine "Sally" Zabala

| June 12, 2012 6:00 AM

Celestine, known to most as Sally joined our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 10th, 2012 at Providence Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane surrounded by her husband, sister (Julie), and children. A rosary service will be held on Thursday June 14th at 6pm at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. A mass presented by Father Thomas will be held in her memory the following day, June 15th, at 2pm followed by a luncheon at the center.

Sally was born in Ontario, OR on October 9, 1938 to Jean and Louisa Baratcart. After graduating from high school she moved to Nampa, ID where she met her husband Nick. They were married on September 4, 1960, and in 1966 they decided to venture to Moses Lake, WA to Manage the Arctic Circle Drive-In, which they eventually bought. The restaurant was known by all who grew up in Moses Lake, or happen to pass through. All of Nick and Sally's children worked there, but it was their daughter, Trish who took over and "honorary" daughter Paula (Rudy) who was there till it's closing in 2009.

Sally was a big baseball fan, she always watched her Seattle Mariners play, but found pleasure in watching her grandchildren's ballgames. She was very much involved with her family and extended family, and was the go-to person when advice was needed. Anyone who had the privilege of meeting Sally knew how special she was, and always will be.

Sally is survived by her husband Nick, children Sam, Timi (Audie), Trish and Joey (Cammy), siblings Claudio Jean (Isabel) Baratcart, Julie (Mariano) Bilbao, Ray (LaRee) Baratcart, grandchildren: Nick (Allison), Tina, Drew, Courtney, Amanda (T.J.), Samantha, Stephanie, Eric, Latisha, Alysha (Trevor), Josie, Shammra, Christian, Cameron, Tony, Alex, Alycia and Arianna. As well as her great-grandchildren, Izabella, Ethan, Jordyn, Elijah and another to join the family in June.

She was preceded in death by her parents and twin brothers, Lloyd and Floyd.

The family would like to thank the nurses, doctors and support staff at Providence Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane, WA for their expertise, compassion and generosity.
