Othello students enjoy Herald

The newspaper that I get in Mr. McPartland's room helps me because I always look in the police records. It helps me figure out when to watch for burglary or shootings, and it makes me feel safer and more aware. It's really entertaining to me.  Also, I like the newspaper because of the comics.  I think the comics are so funny; I just can't stop laughing when I read Garfield and also the Peanut ones.  Finally, I like the newspaper that I get because of all the news stories that happen to really excite me or worry me. I still love to read the newspaper all of the time.  As you can see, this is why I like reading the newspaper.

There are many benefits to reading the newspaper that we get every week. One way the newspaper benefits me is that I know what's going on in our town, like maybe a bad person moved to our town. We need to know this stuff to be safe.  Another way the newspaper benefits me is seeing important events that have happened, like there was an egg hunt for kids and also 13 felons were caught. This is all so important. The last way the newspaper benefits me is sports updates like stats for the sports that are going on right now. Those are some ways the newspaper benefits me.

When I get the newspaper once a week, I go to the comedy section because I like to read the comics. They make me laugh. I also go to the comedy section to see who the author is, so I can check out their books. Also, I go to the sports section because I like sports. I like to watch sports at home with my brother and cheer for our favorite team. My brother and I both like soccer, basketball, and football. So, in the newspaper, we look and see if there is any news about our favorite teams. We also looking the newspaper and vote on which comic we liked best. These are some of the reasons why I enjoy looking at the paper.

The paper we get each week is interesting because they tell us some good stories. Also, every time he gives us the paper, I go straight to the sports section to see how our teams are doing. Another thing is if we write summaries, we can get extra credit. The paper we get tells us about a lot of the nearby towns like Warden, Moses Lake and Ephrata. Those towns have some pretty interesting stories. One time I needed a couple more points to have a higher grade, so I asked for a paper. I wrote summaries for the higher grade. As you can see, newspapers help our class out to get better grades and I'm glad that Mr. McPartland gives us the opportunity to raise our grades.

When I get the newspaper, I always like to go to the sports section because sometimes I see people that I know. I also learn something about sports. This has helped me because I love sports and if I have a bad grade then I can't do sports, so I try my best to have good grades for sports. When I read the newspaper, I learn many things. It's good because sometimes you find good jobs in the newspaper, and you could make good money.  You could find a good car too if you need one. Mostly, it helps me with sports.
