Elizabeth E."Betty" Hendrickson

Elizabeth E."Betty" Hendrickson, 89, a longtime Moses Lake resident passed away Sunday, June 3, 2012 at her daughter's home where she had lived the last four years. Betty was born in Sedro-Woolley, Washington on March 13, 1923 to immigrant parents from Belgium. After graduating from Everett High School in 1941, she attended Business School and worked as a secretary at JC Penney's. On September 26, 1942, she married Arthur Hendrickson. They made their first permanent home in Everett, WA.

In 1952, they moved to a dairy farm in Stanwood, WA where Betty and the children were in charge of milking and farming while Art worked out as a machinist. In 1963, they purchased and relocated to a hay farm at Moses Lake, in the Block 40 area. Betty was again jointly involved with the farming operation.

In 1975 Betty and Art started wintering in Mesa, Arizona where they purchased a home in Mesa Regal RV Park. They became involved in the life of the park where they made many friends. Here they enjoyed swimming, bicycling, hiking, crafts and classes. They were also active in the Trinity Baptist Church in Mesa.

Art passed away in September of 1995. Betty continued to make Mesa Regal her winter home until 2007.

Betty is survived by her five children, Douglas (Deanna) Hendrickson, Jerry (Gayle) Hendrickson, Wendy (Lee) Walker, Randy (Ginny) Hendrickson and Dan (Kathy) Hendrickson; 16 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, June 6th at Valley View Memorial Park in Soap Lake followed by a Memorial service at 3 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 724 W. 4th Ave., Moses Lake.
