WARDEN - A golf tournament is being held at Sage Hills Golf Course to raise money for the Warden Development Council.

The first annual "Golf Classic" is sponsored in part by Lamb Weston BSW, Jensen Farms and Skone and Connors Produce, according to event organizers.

The event registration begins June 8 at 11 a.m. with a noon start. Team registrations cost $300, individuals play for $75.

A barbecue will be held immediately after the golfing ends and is included in the registration fee.

WDC member Andi Vincent said on Tuesday the council is four teams shy of filling the tournament.

"Please sponsor a team and support the WDC," she stated. "We need the funds to continue improving Warden. The pretty flower baskets hanging around town aren't free (and) the more money we raise the more we can do."
