MOSES LAKE - Initial reports of a pedestrian fatality on state Route 17 Wednesday included a different first name of the deceased man.

Washington State Patrol Lt. Scott Martin reported Wednesday that a Benjamin Horning, of Quincy, was hit and killed by a motorhome just before noon when trying to cross SR 17 about 3 miles north of Moses Lake.

But information released by the Washington State Patrol Thursday lists the deceased as Boris B. Horning, 20, of Quincy.

Martin could not be reached Thursday to comment on the discrepancy.

According to Thursday's report, Horning was running on the northbound shoulder of the highway near McConihe Road when he attempted to cross both lanes of travel.

He was reportedly hit by a 1993 County Coach motorhome driven by Steven P. Stetner, 53, of Ephrata.

Horning was pronounced deceased at the scene and his next of kin were notified, according to the report. Stetner and his passenger, Kimberly P. Stetner, 54, also of Ephrata, were uninjured.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation, the state patrol reported.
