The area around the Silver Dollar Cafe, where Highways 24 and 241 meet west of Hanford, was converted to a camp for fire fighters last Thursday as they battled the 4,600-acre 241 fire on the hill in the distance. It started Thursday and was contained by mid-day on Friday. There was no damage to property nor injury to people or animals. The fire started with a motorcycle crash and involved fire fighters from numerous departments from multiple counties.
