Grant County is seeking to contract with an experienced electrical company/firm for the purpose of replacing the existing generator/back-up power system at the Grant County Youth Services Facility in Ephrata, Washington with a new system that will provide reliable and increased capacity for emergency power.

YOUTH SERVICES GENERATOR REPLACEMENT PROJECT

Request For Qualifications/Bids

The County will enter into a professional services agreement with an individual and/or firm to be selected as part of this RFQ/B process. The purpose of the agreement will be to implement the upgrade for the Youth Services emergency/back-up power system which will encompass the following: (1) the removal of the existing 5kW generator and transfer switch; (2) provision and installation of a new 100kW diesel generator; (3) the replacement of the existing Panel E with a new 3P-80A panel board and re-feeding the new Panel E from the new generator and transfer switch; (4) the transfer of all emergency loads which are currently connected to existing Panel E to the new Panel E; (5) the installation of new emergency branch circuits to connect the following items to the new Panel E:

1. Additional existing lighting within the facility will be connected to new Panel E and utilized as additional generator backed emergency lighting;

2. Additional branch circuits will be extended from new Panel E to the control room, LVE room, and security equipment power supplies;

(6) The provision and installation of a new 400A generator backed Standby Distribution Panel and 3P-400A transfer switch, which are sized to allow the connection of Panel A, Panel C, and Panel B; and (7) the removal and replacement of the old Panel A with a new panel that is re-fed from the new Standby Distribution Panel.

A Request for Qualifications/Bids Package may be obtained beginning Monday, July 30th at:

(1) The office of the Grant County Board of County Commissioners located at 35 C Street NW in Ephrata, Washington; or

(2) From the Grant Website at www.grantcountyweb.us.

The deadline for qualifications is 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 9th, 2012. An original proposal/bid and three (3) photocopies must be submitted as shown below in a sealed envelope clearly marked with project title: "Grant County Youth Services Generator Replacement Project". A bid security is a requirement for this project and must be submitted with all bids/proposals. Late proposals and/or proposals submitted via e-mail or facsimile will not be accepted.

Bids will be opened on Thursday, August 9th at 2:05 p.m. in the Commissioners lobby located

on the 2nd floor of the Grant County Courthouse at 35 C Street NW in Ephrata, Washington.
