SL domestic violence lands man in jail

| July 23, 2012 6:00 AM

SOAP LAKE - A Soap Lake man was arrested this week after brandishing a firearm at this girlfriend.

The offense was severe enough to warrant a call to the Moses Lake Regional Tactical Response Team, according to information provided Wednesday by the Grant County Sheriff's Office.

Thomas Thorn, 54, of Soap Lake, was taken into custody and booked into the Grant County Jail for several charges, including felony harassment, unlawful imprisonment and second-degree assault (domestic violence).

His 43-year-old girlfriend was transported to Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake, where she was treated and released with minor injuries.

Though the Tactical Response Team was called, Thorn was taken into custody before they were deployed.

Apparently a verbal argument  turned physical along the 21000 block of state Highway 17.

Grant County deputies later obtained a search warrant where evidence was located in Thorn's vehicle and the residence, the sheriff's office said.

No further information was available pending an ongoing investigation.
