Washington's Secretary of State to honor community-minded businesses
OLYMPIA - The state Secretary of State's office is accepting nominations for 2012 Corporations for Communities Award until Aug. 31.
Outgoing secretary Sam Reed started the program in 2009 as a way to recognize exceptional businesses in the state that demonstrate a commitment to improving local and regional conditions.
"We are fortunate to have many companies in our state that make it a priority to give back to their community," Reed said. "This is a chance for the public to help some of them receive well-earned recognition."
Nominations are open to any size for-profit corporation, Limited Liability Corporation or Limited Partnership who are registered with the office and in compliance with state and federal laws.
Nomination forms can be found at the secretary's website, www.sos.wa.gov. Winners will be announced in September.
