Applications open for new Canola plant jobs

| July 21, 2012 6:00 AM

MOSES LAKE - Owners of a new Canola processing plant in Warden are accepting applications, through the WorkSource office, through July 27.

Applications for jobs at Pacific Coast Canola are being taken only at the WorkSource Central Basin office in Moses Lake, said Greg Gutierrez, who's overseeing the process for WorkSource. Applicants must apply in person at WorkSource's office, at 309 E. Fifth Ave.

The company is looking for 20 workers (production operators) and smaller numbers of electricians, mechanics and supervisors. Compensation is competitive with similar jobs in manufacturing. There's also a benefits package and bonus program, Gutierrez said.

The $110 million facility will have 30 to 40 employees when it's running at full capacity. The facility will receive and transport Canola seed, and store and transport the resulting oil and Canola meal.
