Quincy Valley Women's Day coming this Saturday
QUINCY - The Quincy Valley Chamber of Commerce will host the second annual Quincy Valley Women's Day on Saturday, July 21, in downtown Quincy.
The QVWD will be held from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. at the Quincy Community Center, which is located at 115 F Street SW (Highway 28).
"This event is intended to bring together the women of the Quincy Valley, women visiting the Quincy Valley and our local businesses," Chamber Director Karen Vizena said.
The QVWD gives business owners an opportunity to showcase their products and/or services. The advantage to attendees is that it's a kind of "one-stop shopping" so they can see what the valley has to offer in the way of services and products.
All products displayed will be available for purchase, and more than 30 Quincy Valley businesses will be represented. Each attendee will receive a Women's Day shopping bag. The bag will contain coupons from businesses that are not able to be at the QVWD with a booth.
"Our goal is to showcase vendors who provide services and products that are targeted toward women, including health and fitness, gifts, clothing, specialty foods, jewelry, kitchen items, entertainment, financial planning and more," Vizena said.
For health, Quincy Valley Medical Center, Quincy Community Health, Take Shape for Life, Gillespie Eye Care and Desert Sun Dental will be on hand.
Barb's Place, Stunning Sunning Swimsuit Boutique and Vault Denim will have a selection of clothing and accessories.
Kimber Perry of 22 Mayhem will be showing off her handmade tutus, skirts and hair accessories. Matt of B's Home Furnishings will be showcasing some of his beautiful home furnishing items.
There will be jewelry from Silpada, specialty food products from Tastefully Simple and home products from Tupperware and Scentsy. Emerald Desert Nursery will have a display of plants and planters as well as beautiful metal art for your yard.
White Trail Produce will have locally grown fresh produce, specialty items, cookbooks, wind chimes and more. Wall Effects products include hand painted glass mirrors & decorative items.
If you need a break, Nicole's Healing Hands will be available for neck massages. Other vendors include Edward Jones, Senior Benefit Solutions, Nail Spa, Quincy Swim & Gym, Quincy Valley School, Stansfield Photography, and It Works!
Jones of Washington and Milbrandt Vineyards will be on site for wine tasting, and coupons will be available for discounts at these wineries and at Beaumont Cellars.
For a light meal, Idle Hour Café is preparing a sandwich and salad, and The Grainery will be on hand with baked goods and specialty drinks.
Music will be provided by Pinkerton Music Studio and Net*Star Productions. A style show is planned, with models showing off clothing from Barb's Place and Stunning Sunning. Also on stage will be fitness demonstrations.
Emerald Desert Nursery will be giving a demonstration on filling floral pots, and the fillers will all be available for purchase following the demonstration.
Kim Bacon of Wall Effects will be doing a demonstration as well.
