EPHRATA - A Soap Lake man is accused of attempting to rape a family member in her home.

Grant County Superior Court Judge John Knodell set bail at $20,000.

The victim's mother reportedly told the victim Hoose was up all night prior to the attack acting paranoid and pacing, according to a Grant County sheriff's report. The victim was allegedly at their house, and returned home with Hoose.

The two were in the victim's living room when Hoose allegedly started touching the woman inappropriately, according to the police report. When she pushed him away, Hoose reportedly attempted to rape the woman.

She was able to escape when Hoose paused and she struck him in the head with a drinking glass, according to the police report.
