| July 17, 2012 6:00 AM

MOSES LAKE - A Level 2 sex offender has registered to live in Moses Lake.

Daniel W. Schroeder, 52, relocated to the 4100 block of Miller Drive NE, according to an advisory issued by the Grant County Sheriff's Office.

Schroeder pled guilty in two separate cases in Lewis County Superior Court: a 2000 first-degree incest charge and a 2002 count of attempted indecent liberties.

The incest charge stems from an attack on an 11-year-old girl. He was sentenced to 20 months in prison. He was later sentenced to another 48 months in person after assaulting a 19-year-old woman after she had fallen asleep. In both cases, Schroeder was staying in the victims' homes.

He stands 6'2" tall, weighs 300 pounds and has green eyes and brown hair.

Schroeder has many distinguishing marks, including tattoos on his face, chest, back, both forearms, hands, groin and penis.

He also has several visible scars, including the left eyebrow, right hand and knees.

As a Level 2 sex offender, Schroeder provides a moderate risk to re-offend.

Level 1 offenders are considered unlikely to reoffend, while Level 3 offenders are considered the highest risk.

Schroeder completed sex offender treatment during his latest prison sentence. He is currently not on active supervision and is only required to register.

The information is intended to help residents and their families avoid situations that could make them vulnerable, according to the advisory.

It is against the law to threaten, intimidate or harass offenders.
