CRESCENT BAR – Things continue to go well for ResortWorks at Crescent Bar, a real estate business that specializes in the sale and rental of vacation properties.

In their first activity outside of Crescent Bar-Trinidad, partners Michelle Smith and Faye Torgerson have listed a property near the entrance of Desert Aire, a vacation destination downriver from Crescent Bar on the Columbia.

“A Quincy business owner referred the property to us,” Smith said.

The property is 14.5 acres of Syrah wine grapes and a home on three acres. It has a state water well certificate.

Smith and Torgerson will market it as single sale but are toying with the idea of selling shares to several different people. There could be numerous owners at one acre or less.

“It's very trendy to have your own vineyard nowadays,” Smith said.

According to Smith and Torgerson, the property has been generating a net income of $50,000 a annually.

In other ResortWorks news, Torgerson noted that Robert Hadley, who partnered in the development of Sunserra Homes, has partnered with Ross Clemenshaw owner of the emerging Crescent Ridge Ranch development.

Clemenshaw is brother to Torgerson, and ResortWorks is the marketing arm for the development. Torgerson said the development pace should pick up now that Hadley is involved. Thirty garages will be offered soon.

Crescent Ridge will have an equestrian theme. Homes will be built around a central equestrian facility. The center area will also include garages that will not necessarily be tied to homes.

“You don't have to own a house to own a garage,” Torgerson said.

These are not you every day garage. They will be 14 feet wide by 40 feet deep with 12-foot tall doors.

“Owners with boats won't have to remove their towers,” Torgerson said.

On the rental side of the business, Torgerson and Smith report some serious growth. They had six rental units in 2011 and now have 24. They include Sunserra, Crescent View and Crescent Bar Island.

“It gives us a real diverse property range,” Torgerson said.
