Reader asks for justice

| July 6, 2012 6:00 AM

For years I have been fighting the system, speaking the truth first for my son, Gabriel Toscano, who since the age of 11 has always been incarcerated. I know my daughter faces criminal charges. When my daughter was raped, the system didn't do much. Others should have been charged. Yes, I too have been charged in Grant County. A police officer hurt me. That's okay because he's an officer who pays doctors by seeing me all the time. I really feel my family has been targeted by Adams and Grant County. Prosecutors make us seem like we're a threat to the community and a danger to officers. Please, is this the only way you have to get rid of my family - by sending us to prison? Juries are used to do the dirty work of our courts. One thinks by using an officer charge, he's telling the truth. I know of others that have struggled with officers and were never charged.

Again, I say it's who we are because they are my children. I wish more was done on my daughter's rape when she was 2. In 2005 I barely found out from crimes victims that Adams County covered up a lot of this case. Why?

In many cases in Adams County they say we're innocent until proven guilty. Not true. What happened to the right to a speedy trial? Officers blame one another. Is tihs right? Is tihs justice, or entrapment? You be the judge.
