Michael George Knoff

Michael George Knoff, 59, from Moses Lake, WA formally Pocatello, ID passed away at home quietly in the presence of his family Wednesday June 27 from natural causes.  

Mike was born May 29 1953 in Pocatello, ID to George and Marjorie Knoff. He had five siblings, Elizabeth, John, Tom, Molly (Vaughn), and Elisa (Rambur). Mike grew up in Pocatello and graduated from Pocatello High School in 1971. He went on to Idaho State University and graduated with a microbiology degree. While there he competed in both swimming and wrestling. After college he worked for SeaGalley Restaurants in Pocatello and also later in Yakima, WA where he met his lovely bride to be. On October 11th, 1980, Mike married his wife of 32 years Tammy. They had two sons, David and Matthew. Mike was a long time employee of the JR Simplot Company in both Pocatello and Moses Lake. He also spent time working for Agrium in Soda Springs and Ballard Medical in Pocatello.  

An avid outdoorsman, he spent much of his free time camping and hiking with his family and many dogs over the years.  In the winter time you could always find him on the slopes of Pebble Creek ski area.  He volunteered at the Simplot games for 16 years and his love for all things baseball gravitated him to coaching little league for many seasons. He was a very caring individual and loved his family dearly.

Mike is survived by his wife and children, lab (Denver) and three granddogs McKay, Sarge and Whiskey. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Elizabeth and brother John.  

Services will be held Monday July 2 at 2 p.m. at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, with a viewing being held one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Aide for Friends. Condolences can be sent to Downard Funeral Home.
