GEORGE - Jangles, rated Seattle's premier Western Swing Band by fans of the genre, has signed for two main stage performances at George's Fourth of July Celebration on July 4.

Jangles will take the stage at 12 noon and 4:15 p.m. Its members are masters of Western and Western Swing music.

Band leader Mike Faast has assembled a group of top northwest musicians, according to Fourth of July Celebration organizer Debby Kooy. Together they deliver hot pickin' and three-part harmony in a style they affectionately call Hick Jazz.

"They're perfectly at home performing a Western Concert or a Western Swing Dance," Kooy said.

With a repertoire that includes western classics, western show tunes and a wide array of swing tunes, they are winning fans in bluegrass, western and western swing circles alike.

"You're gonna want to get up and dance. Don't miss this show," Kooy said.  Jangles members are Paul Anastasio (fiddle), Mike Faast (lead vocals, guitar), Roger Ferguson (guitar, fiddle) and Lance and Laurie Haslund (vocals, bass, ukulele).

"July 4th in George, Washington promises to be an Independence Day celebration your family will enjoy," Kooy said. "We've got an amazing schedule of dawn-to-dusk  activities, shows, great food and live performances in a beautiful setting. They highlight the best of small-town Americana."
