MOSES LAKE - Michael Northup knocked down 25 points and Eric Curtiss added 16 the Phoenix to win on their home court Tuesday.

CBSS jumped out to an early 19 -11 lead, but the hot shooting of Cameron Peters  got  Mansfield to within two points at the half, 26-24.

However, Peters  had to ride the pine for the majority of the third quarter and that allowed CBSS to race out in front of the Kernels 43-29.

"He got into foul trouble early in the quarter and we were able to take a 14 point lead," coach Rolland Hansen said. "Eric scored five of his 25 points and three other players contributed three points each as they were keying on Michael and Eric."

Dongqi Han added nine points in the Phoenix win and Pedro Perotti finished with six.

Peters had 14 points for the Kernels and Colin Pate finished with eight. Mansfield leading scorer Mason McLean was out of action with a broken wrist.

The win over the Kernels improves the Phoenix record to 1-3 in the 1B Central Washington standings and 3-8 overall.

CBSS is back on the hardwood Feb. 2 when they host Cascade Christian at 7:30 p.m.
