EPHRATA - The twin brothers originally accused of a stabbing and shooting in Soap Lake, allegedly assaulted two police officers.

Juan D. Silva, 18, Soap Lake, and Alfredo L. Silva, 18, Soap Lake, are each charged with assault in the third degree in Grant County Superior Court, according to court records.

Grant County Superior Court Judge Evan Sperline set Alfredo Silva's bail at $50,000, according to court records. A bench warrant was issued for Juan Silva.

Ephrata police were investigating a stabbing, when they saw several people fighting on Fifth Avenue, according to an Ephrata police report. A male was on top of Alfredo Silva, punching him. When police ordered the male to stop, he didn't, and an officer used a Taser to subdue the male.

When he was on the ground, Alfredo Silva reportedly got up and jumped on the male, according to the police report. The officer reportedly ordered Alfredo Silva to stop. When he allegedly didn't comply, the officer kicked Alfredo Silva off.

A second officer shot Alfredo Silva with a Taser, and he kept trying to get back up, according to the police report. Juan Silva kept telling his brother to stop fighting and just lay down. When an officer told Juan to back away, he argued with the officer he was trying to help.

Once Alfredo Silva was on his knees, an officer moved behind him and started putting handcuffs on him. Juan Silva reportedly leaned in and asked his brother if he was "ready," according to the police report. A second later, Alfredo Silva started to stand, while Juan Silva charged the second officer on the scene.

Alfredo Silva punched the officer in the face, knocking him off balance, according to the police report. The officer let go of Alfredo Silva, who ran away.

Juan Silva allegedly grabbed the second officer. The officer hit Juan Silva with his flashlight. Juan Silva ran away after being hit.

Police chased the brothers and were able to tackle Alfredo Silva, according to the police report. Juan Silva escaped.

Charges of murder in the second degree against the brothers were dismissed in November. The two were accused of shooting and stabbing the 18-year-old Martinez. The charges were dismissed after new information was obtained, according to the prosecutor's office.
