ROYAL CITY - Royal Middle School Principal Dave Jaderlund shared a story of neighborly cooperation between Royal and Wahluke students at the Dec. 19 school board meeting.

Athletes from both middles schools showed up for four basketball games between them, all in the same gym, on Dec. 15 and ran into a snag. The gym was set up for a Christmas concert the next day. Someone had missed the scheduling of the games.

No problem, really. The games were played.

Students from both schools removed the chairs and put them away. After the games, Jaderlund said, students from both schools put the chairs back in concert formation.
