ROYAL CITY - The Community Communication Committee has scheduled two informational town hall meetings for tomorrow, Wednesday, Jan. 25.

One of the town halls will be held at the O'Sullivan Dam Sportsman's Resort Clubhouse in Mardon at 5:30 p.m. It will be followed by Mardon's regular bingo at 6:30.

The second town hall will be held at the Royal City Community Center at the Royal Golf Course. It will get under way at 6:30.

There will be refreshments and opportunities to ask questions at both town halls. District personnel, board members and Community Communication Committee members will be on hand.

Their goal is to educate the community about district needs. A $1.1 million maintenance and operation levy is scheduled for Feb. 14.The levy election will get under way on Jan. 27, when ballots are mailed out.

Approval of this levy by the voters will trigger a levy equalization amount of $1.3 million for the district, Superintendent Rose Search noted.

Levy and equalization funds allow the district to offer the programs students and parents now enjoy. It pays for parts or all of programs the state won't cover.
