Reward offered for Toya

| January 14, 2012 5:00 AM

EPHRATA - Dan Toya's family are gathering funds to offer a cash reward for information leading to the whereabouts of the 64-year-old Moses Lake man.

Toya told family he was taking his 10-month-old dog, Molly, to the veterinarian and for a walk afterwards on Dec. 23, according to Grant County Sheriff Tom Jones.

He went to the Samon's Beach area at the Potholes Reservoir on Road K.5 Southeast. His pickup was found locked and unoccupied.

A large search effort combed the area without success of finding Toya or Molly.

On Dec. 28 a side-scanning sonar boat from Boise, Idaho spent much of the day scanning a portion of the reservoir near where Toya's truck was found but little was discovered.

There are no signs of foul play and the case remains open with a detective assigned to locate the missing Moses Lake man, stated Jones.

Toya is described as an Asian man, standing 5 foot, 9 inches tall, weighing 180 pounds with gray hair and brown eyes.

Friends and family continue to search for Toya.

Anyone with information about Toya is asked to call Det. Kim Cook at 509-754-2011, ext. 468, or by emailing information to crimetips@co.grant.wa.us. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
