Lillian Park

Lillian Hope Park, 78, a long time resident of Ephrata peacefully died at her home, January 5, 2012.

She was born September 5, 1933 at home to Isaac Dewey Hope & Hattie Lucille Park Hope in Sugar-Salem, ID, where she spent her childhood youth. She moved to Washington and the Columbia Basin with her father, mother, and sister Violet in 1949 and there joined her brothers Clifford & Eldon with their families in Quincy. Her sister Marie, had married Tom Parke, and they continued to live in St. Anthony, ID. Lillian attended Quincy High School and later met Jack James Park and fell in love. They were married December 16, 1951 in the Ephrata ERC building. They just recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. In 1953 they bought their first home in Ephrata, and Lillian gave birth to twin boys, Clayton and Clinton. They were later blessed with a daughter Deborah, and another son Evan.

Lillian was a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and provided many years of service and devotion to the Church's children's Primary, Sunday School, and Relief Society programs. Lillian sincerely supported her husband Jack in all his endeavors in the church, his career with the PUD, and as a co-business owner in The Hobby House, Western Collectors Antique & Gun Shows and Gun Shop, and J & L Art Source.

Lillian loved and appreciated all things beautiful, and loved to be creative. She had learned to crochet, embroider, needlework, quilting, painting with watercolors & chalk, and graphic design.

Lillian was preceded in death by her father Isaac, mother Hattie, brother Clifford, brother Eldon, sister Marie, and sister Violet.

Lillian is survived by her husband Jack of Ephrata, sons Clay Park of Soap Lake, Clint Park of Wenatchee, daughter Debbie (Dan) Harper of Ephrata, and Evan (Keli) Park of Scottsdale, AZ., seven grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, nine great-grand children, and many nieces & nephews.

Funeral services are 10:30, Saturday, Jan 14, at the Ephrata LDS Chapel. The family will receive friends before the service at the church from 9:45 to 10:25 Burial at the Ephrata City Cemetery will follow the funeral service.
