Stolen SUV, property recovered in Soap Lake

SOAP LAKE - Grant County sheriff's deputies arrested three individuals believed to be responsible for multiple property thefts.

On Dec. 31, deputies responded to Division Street South in Soap Lake to recover a 1999 Dodge Durango reported stolen from a Moses Lake resident the previous day, according to Grant County Sheriff Tom Jones on Tuesday.

While deputies were on scene, they reportedly spotted Mathew Low, 23, Soap Lake, Dylan Timpani, 23, Ephrata, and Michelle Abrahams, 28, Moses Lake, inside a fifth-wheel trailer parked next to the Durango and subsequently arrested them on suspicion of possession of the stolen vehicle.

Underneath the trailer, deputies found items fitting the descriptions of property stolen during a recent burglary, Jones stated.

A search warrant was attained and deputies identified several items in and around the trailer believed to have been stolen during at least six recent burglaries in Ephrata, Moses Lake and Soap Lake, Jones said. The items include an air compressor, tools, a large amount of jewelry, a PlayStation and personal documents.

Deputies allegedly found methamphetamine inside the trailer and ultimately booked Low, Timpani and Abrahams on suspicion of first-degree possession of stolen property and possession of methamphetamine.

Jones said Soap Lake police assisted deputies with serving the search warrant and matching victims to recovered stolen property.

"This was a great piece of police work done by Sgt. Mark Biallis, Cpl. Gary Mansford, and deputies Greg Hutchison, Jason Ball, Joe Harris and Mike Earney," Jones stated. "Soap Lake police officers also played a role in helping serve the search warrant and later matched stolen items to its rightful owners. That teamwork helped stop these alleged criminals."

Further charges may be filed as the investigation continues, Jones said.
