Land contract program introduced

EPHRATA - The Farm Service Agency has introduced a Land Contract Guarantee Program that benefits beginning farmers, minorities and women with a tool to obtain farm real estate.
According to FSA Farm Loan Chief Melissa Cummins, guarantees can be used for financing the purchase of a farm with a purchase price up to $500,000 on a new land contract. The buyer is required to pay a minimum down payment of five percent, plan to operate the farm and be able to project the ability to make the land contract payments.
