Raquel was born on May 12, 1972 in Seattle, Washington to Adelina Gonzales. Raquel was raised in Moses Lake, Washington and graduated from Moses Lake High School in 1990. After high school Raquel spent some time working in Alaska on a fishing boat. She then moved to Seattle, married (and later separated), and had two sons. Once in Seattle, Raquel began working for Albertsons and stayed with the company until only a few months before her death. She was employed by Albertsons for approximately nineteen (19) years. During that time Raquel was able to touch the lives of many of her customers and fellow employees. Raquel was fun, outgoing, and strived to make her family and friends happy. She had an infectious, unforgettable laugh. Raquel never turned down a request for help. Raquel loved her two sons and wanted to give them everything she possibly could. Raquel enjoyed cooking, reading books and magazines, music, and spending time with family and friends. In November of 2011 Raquel jumped at the opportunity to participate in a once in a lifetime trip to Africa and France with her mother where they went on an African safari and toured Paris. Raquel was loved as a mother, a daughter, a sister, a "tia", a cousin, a niece, a grandchild, and a friend.

Raquel is survived by her two sons, Austin Taylor Werner and Chase Brandon Werner; her significant other, Jarred Pfenning; her mother, Adelina Gonzales; her siblings, Sandra (Godinez) Estudillo, Juan Salvador Godinez, and Javier Rodriguez; her nieces and nephew, Sofia E.
